General Description
It starts at 7:30 am, and takes 5 hours in total, 45 minutes from the town to the Control park by transport, and 3 hours walking.
Sierra Negra is one of the largest volcanoes in the Galapagos Islands and has an oval caldera, which measures 9 km in an east-west direction and 7 km in a north-south direction. This volcano has produced at least 10 eruptions in historical times, with an average rest period of 15 years between each eruptive episode.
